Long Time No See! A Joyful Alumni Reunion in Shanghai

When we say “community” at Concordia, we mean it; it’s not aonly about relationships, but about reconnecting, sharing, and growing together. On June 5th, we welcomed our amazing alumni back to Shanghai for our annual alumni meet‑up. And what a joyful evening it was!

Nearly 50 people gathered at The Press restaurant, joined by our Head of School, Dr. Eric Semler, and several beloved faculty members. The room was filled with laughter, hugs, and the kind of warmth that only comes from being among old friends. Some of them traveled all the way from the United States and even made time for a campus visit in the following weeks.

One of the most meaningful moments was a special recognition for Mr. Erik Paulson, a long-serving teacher and a true legend at Concordia, whose impact on generations of students has been profound. Alumni students sent over heartfelt video messages, thanking him for his lessons, his guidance, and the lasting wisdom he has imparted.

We were also excited to introduce our newly launched alumni network platform, "Concordia Phoenix Connect", a dedicated place to reconnect with old friends, meet fellow Phoenixes around the world, and stay close to the community that raised us.
